GE Discontinues Mifare Readers 840 and 845

From GE Security, an InterTECH Security Supply Partner:

GE Security announced recently that it is discontinuing the Model 840 and Model 845 Contactless Mifare Readers. In accordance with the GE discontinuation policy, they are giving advance notice of the discontinued Model 84x readers in order for companies to adjust their purchasing records.

The Model 840 and 845 are being replaced with the new multi-technology Model T-5xx Transition Series readers that now support GE and HID 125 kHz Proximity, HID Corporate 1000 Proximity, 13.56 MHz contactless smart card technologies for MIFARE® Card Serial Number (ISO 14443A) and Vicinity Card Serial Number (ISO 15693), including HID iCLASS® Card Serial Number credentials.
