AMAG Technology Changes Product Line to Symmetry Security Management System

InterTECH Security Access Control Supply Partner AMAG has just announced that they are changing the name of their security management systems to Symmetry. What follows is the official AMAG press release.

Torrance, CA (September 25, 2006) – AMAG Technology, A G4Tec Company, today announced that it will rename its AMAG line of security management systems to Symmetry™ Security Management Systems. Symmetry signifies the company’s evolution to a market-driving security solution provider. Symmetry encompasses AMAG’s approach to offer not only best-in-breed solutions, but to provide a complete portfolio of security solutions beyond the typical integration to its customers.

AMAG has been driving a fundamental shift in its approach to the market that began with the development of Symmetry™ Video Management and Symmetry™ ENVS® (Edge Network Video Server). Symmetry Video uses “smart” software to stop crime in real-time by recognizing configured behaviors. The company entered the video market last year with its Symmetry Video product line, and is now focusing on offering a complete Symmetry Security Management Solution.

The name Symmetry represents what AMAG has been providing its customers for years: an integrated security management system that includes Identity Management, Access Control, Intrusion Management and Video Management, all of which have equal value and are in balance with one another to protect people, property and assets.

The Symmetry Security Management System product portfolio includes:

• Symmetry Business software is perfect for commercial facilities with up to 64 readers in mind. Business Edition brings an integrated solution to the marketplace for facilities that want to incorporate access and video without tying together disparate systems.
• Symmetry Professional software fits applications that require a more sophisticated set of features but at a cost-effective price point. Professional can meet all the system requirements for the majority of mid-sized, multi-location facilities.
• Symmetry Enterprise software is the solution for systems operating across a LAN / WAN with multiple operators administering the system. It supports an unlimited number of readers and clients making it ideal for larger, multi-site applications that require centralized monitoring and database administration.
• Symmetry Global is the product to use when large organizations have buildings spread over a wide geographic area and provides the functionality to unite them. Combined with Symmetry Professional or Symmetry Enterprise software at the individual locations, Symmetry Global Edition provides the means to manage databases and monitoring in either a centralized or de-centralized manner or a combination of both.
• Symmetry Homeland is AMAG’s government specific software designed for supplying security to Government Agencies that need to meet the requirements of the various standards and directives, such as; PIV-II, FIPS 201 and HSPD-12.
• Symmetry multiNODE controllers utilize a distributed database detailing valid cardholders and access rights.
• Symmetry Video is a digital video solution supporting IP cameras, multiple technologies, and 36 camera views per PC. Its smart software detects behavior differences, which significantly reduces false alarms. The Symmetry ENVS stores 80 GB and forwards video activity on demand.
